The resemblance to the Ibizan architectural style is no coincidence, as the architect was born on the neighboring island of Ibiza.
The idyllic bays with their fine sandy beaches in Cala d'Or attract bathers, water lovers and sun worshipers every year. In some places, pine forests reach as far as the water and there is the scent of almond trees in the air. The main beach of Cala d'Or is framed by rocky cliffs and welcomes its visitors with golden sand. Sun loungers and parasols can be hired. North of the main beach is the bay of Cala Gran, which is extremely popular with cliff divers and snorkelers. Although the beach is only 50 m long, the fjord-like character of the bay makes it a natural jewel on the Mallorcan south-east coast.
